The last ten nights of Ramadan have now begun, Alhamdulillah.

We all want to ‘search’ for Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power), Inshallah.

It is said to be on the last ten nights of this blessed month, and fall on an odd night.

We do not know when the night will fall, so we should all try and do our best in searching for it as hard as we can.

The Quran was revealed on this night, and there is immense blessing in it, Subhanallah! Our good deeds are multiplied on a huge scale!

Thus, I thought I’d create this blog in hope of spreading the little good deeds us Muslims are doing in these last ten nights, Insha’Allah.

This details of this blog are as follows:

• It is in ‘real-time’. WordPress have described it like Twitter, so Insha’Allah it will provide a gateway for Muslims to spread knowledge quickly and easily.
• I post a ‘good deed’ that I’d like to achieve Inshallah.
• You comment back replying that you have also done this good deed.
• You can also write in your reply how many people you spread this deed to, or how many you will send it to i.e. by text/email.
• You post a good deed you would like to/have achieved.
• Others comment back once they’ve achieved, and so forth.
• Knowledge and good deeds get spread across the globe Inshallah!

I have just thought up a project for the end of Ramadan, to do with the last ten nights and Laylatul Qadr.

Remember, after hardships ALWAYS COME EASE whether, it be here, straight away or even in the here-after. But that ease after the hardship is for sure.

Also another way which we need to endure some ‘difficulties’ are by EXAMS!

For those of you who are going through that tough time now or are going to have exams, Inshallah I hope this post benefits you!

• Dua before studying

I’ve been taught this as the intention of Imam al Haddad, peace be upon him and his family. Imam al-Haddâd encouraged his students to read the following intention before studying:

Al-hamdu llilahi rabb il ‘âlamîn wa salallahu ‘ala saydinâ Muhamamdin wa ‘alâ âlihi wa sahbihi wa sallam. Nawaytu al-ta’alluma wa talîma wat tadhakkara wa-tadhkîr wa na’fa’ wal ‘intifâ’ wal-ifâdah wa’l istifâdah wal-hath ‘ala_tamassuki bi kitâbillahi wa sunnati rusûlihi wa du’â il al-hudâ wa dalâlata ‘alal khayri wabtighâha waj hillâhi wa mardâtihi wa qurbihi wa thawâbihi subhânahu wa ta’âla.

All praise is to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. And salutations and greetings upon our master Muhammad and upon his family and companions. I intend to study and teach, take and give a reminder, take and give benefit, take and give advantage, to encourage the holding fast to the book of Allah and the way of His messenger, and calling to guidance and directing towards good, hoping for the countenance of Allah and His pleasure, proximity and reward, transcendent is He.

• Dua for Strengthening Memory

Glorified are You. We do not know except what you have taught us. Surely you are all-knowing,
all-wise. My Lord, expand for me my Bosom and ease for me my task
and remove the knot from my tongue (speech) so that they may understand my speech. My Lord increase me in knowledge.
O Allah, fill my heart with light and increase the strength of my hearing, my sight and my memory.

Durood:

• Read any Durood Shareef.
• There are many benefits of Durood upon the last Prophet sallahu alaihiwasalam, Subhannalah

Increasing Knowledge

• Rabbi Zidni ‘Ilma
• (My Lord! Increase me in knowledge)
  

I think most of you probably know that dua already, but in case you don’t, then RabiZidni’Ilma is one of the main duas everybody seems to read before studying.

***Please note, these Dua’s can be said at any time, for Allah s.w.t. always hears the call of the believer-I’m just saying that for those studying the exams may wish to make the duas inshallah in case they didn’t know them before. So inshallah we can read them all the time -but now’s a good time too!

I have made dua for ALL OF YOU, whether you just came to this blog, or commented, but most importantly to those who read these Duas regularly. InshaAllah, may Allah swt grant you all success, in this life and the next, and save you from the hell-fire and grant you paradise. Ameen.

Keep reading these Duas’. They are very strong, Alhamdulillah. Have faith in Allah. Don’t give up. InshaAllah I hope we all keep learning, increasing our knowledge, and acting upon it.

And for those looking for more things to read, Surah Fatihah and Ayatul-Kursi are very beneficial and we should try to read them daily InshaAllah. Also, small things such as Durood, and the kalimahs. Re-iterate your Shahadah.

Say, in your heart and on your tongue, ‘La illaha illalahu Muhammadur-rasullallah’, and know that whatever happens in this life, the exams, the trials and tribulations, the most important thing is that we have our Deen.

I had an idea. Inshallah (God-willing) it will benefit many people.

TO SHARE ISLAMIC STORIES WITH THE WORLD ON THIS BLOG!

You know, those amazing Islamic stories,Alhamdulillah,with good morals behind them.

They might be from:

• Quran
• Ahadith
• narrated by Sahaba (R.A)
• stories of Prophets (A.S)
• Islamic moral stories
• etc..

I’ll try to leave some of my favourite Islamic stories too later inshallah.

So who wants to start it off?

My Favourite Islamic Stories:

-There was a young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time. When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholar or any expert who could answer his 3 questions. Finally, his parents were able to find a Muslim scholar.

Youmg Man(YM): Who are you? Can you answer my questions?

Scholar(S): I am one of Allah(SWT) slaves and Inca-Allah (God-willing), I will be able to answer your questions.

YM: Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.

S: I will try my best, with the help of Allah(SWT).

YM: I have three questions:
1. Does God exist? If so, show me His shape.
2. What is thaqdir(fate)?
3. If Shaitan(devil) was created from fire, why at the end will he be thrown to hell that is also created from fire. It certainly will not hurt him at all, since shaitan(devil) and the hell were created from fire. Did God not think of it this far?

Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man’s face very hard.

YM: (FEELING PAIN) Why do you get angry at me?

S: I am not angry. The slap is my answer to your three questions.

YM: I really don’t understand.

S: How do you feel after I slapped you?

YM: Of course, I felt the pain.

S: So do you believe that pain exists?

YM: Yes.

S: Show me the shape of the pain!

YM: I cannot.

S: That is my first answer. All of us feel God’s existence without being able to see His shape….Last night, did you dream that you will be slapped by me?

YM: No.

S: Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me, today?

YM: No

S: That is takdir (fate) my second answer……My hand that I used to slap you, what is it created from?

YM: It is created from flesh.

S: How about your face, what is it created from?

YM: Flesh.

S: How do you feel after I slapped you?

YM: In pain.

S: That’s it. This is my third answer, even though Shaitan(devil) and also the hell were created from the fire, if Allah wants, insha”Allah(God willing), the hell will become a very painful place for Shaitan.

-(Shorter and longer versions of same story):

Imam Abu Hanifa was asked by the khalifa to meet with them and an atheist so Imam Abu Hanifa could debate with him. They set a time for them to meet up. So the day and time came and left and they kept waiting for Imam Abu Hanifa until finally he came. Everyone questioned him about his being late and what happened. So he started explaining how there was river that he had to cross….and he was waiting for a boat to come and bring him on the other side of the river. While he was waiting, the branches and leaves of the tree fell and slowly formed themselves into a boat. And he jumped in that boat crossed the river. Obviously ppl laughed at this story and the atheist asked him ‘Are you mad enough to believe that a boat was made all by itself?

Imam Abu Hanifa replied ‘Who is more mad? the one who believed that a boat was created by itself, or you who believes that the entire world is created by itself?’

Long ago in the city of Baghdad, there was a Muslim empire. On one side of the River Tigris were the royal palaces and on the other side was the city. The Muslims were gathered in the Royal Palace when an athiest approached them. He said to them, ‘I don’t believe in God, there cannot be a God, you cannot hear Him or see Him, you’re wasting your time! Bring me your best debator and I will debate this issue with him.’ The best debator at the time was Imam Abu Hanifah Rahimullah. A messenger from amongst the Muslims was sent over the River Tigris to the city, where Abu Hanifah Rahimullah was, in order to tell him about the athiest who was awaiting him. On crossing the River Tigris, the messenger conveyed the message to Abu Hanifah Rahimullah saying, ‘Oh Abu Hanifah, an athiest is waiting for you, to debate you, please come!’ Abu Hanifah Rahimullah told the messeneger that he would be on his way. The messenger went over the River Tigris once again and to the Royal Palaces, where everyone including the athiest awaited the arrival of Abu Hanifah Rahimullah. It was sunset at the time and one hour had passed, but Abu Hanifah Rahimullah still hadn’t arrived. Another hour had passed, but still there was no sign of him. The Muslims started to become tense and worried about his late arrival. They did not want the athiest to think that they were too scared to debate him, yet they did not want to take up the challenge themselves as Abu Hanifah Rahimullah was the best of Debators from amongst the Muslims. Another hour passed, and suddenly the athiest started laughing and said, ‘ Your best debator is too scared! He knows he’s wrong, he is too frightened to come and debate with me. I gurantee he will not turn up today.’ The Muslims increased in apprehension and eventually it had passed midnight, and the athiest had a smile on his face. The clock ticked on, and finally Abu Hanifah Rahimullah had arrived. The Muslims inquired about his lateness and remarked, ‘Oh Abu Hanifah, a messenger sent for you hours ago, and you arrive now, explain your lateness to us.’ Abu Hanifah Rahimullah apologises for his lateness and begins to explain, while the atheist listens to his story. ‘Once the messenger delivered the message to me, I began to make my way to the River Tigris, and on reaching the river bank I realised there was no boat, in order to cross the river. It was getting dark, and I looked around, there was no boat anywhere nor was there a navigator or a sailor in order for me to cross the river to get to the Royal Palaces. I continued to look around for a boat, as I did not want the athiest to think I was running away and did not want to debate with him. I was standing on the river bank looking for a navigator or a boat when something caught my attention in the middle of the river. I looked forward, and to my amazement I saw planks of wood rising to the surface from the sea bed. I was shocked, amazed, I couldn’t believe what I saw seeing. Ready made planks of wood were rising up to the surface and joining together. They were all the same width and length, I was astounded at what I saw. I continued to look into the middle of the river, and then I saw nails coming up from the sea floor. They positioned themselves onto the boat and held the planks together, without them being banged. I stood in amazement and thought to myself, ‘Oh Allah, how can this happen, planks of wood rising to the surface by itself, and then nails positioning themselves onto the boat without being banged?’ I could not undertsand what was happening before my eyes.’ The athiest meanwhile was listening with a smile on his face. Abu Hanifah Rahimullah continued, ‘I was still standing on the river bank watching these planks of wood join together with nails. I could see water seeping through the gaps in the wood, and suddenly I saw a sealant appear from the river and it began sealing the gaps without someone having poured it, again I thought, ‘Ya Allah, how is this possible, how can sealant appear and seal the gaps without someone having poured it, and nails appear without someone having banged them.’ I looked closer and I could see a boat forming before my eyes, I stood in amazement and was filled with shock. All of a sudden a sail appeared and I thought to myself, ‘How is this happening, a boat has appeared before my eyes by itself, planks of wood, nails, sealant and now a sail, but how can I use this boat in order to cross the river to the Royal Palaces?’ I stood staring in wonderment and suddenly the boat began to move. It came towards me against the current. It stood floating beside me while I was on the river bank, as if telling me to embark onto it. I went on the boat and yet again it began to move. There was no navigator or sailor on the boat, and the boat began to travel towards the direction of the royal palaces, without anyone having programmed it as to where to go. I could not understand what was happening, and how this boat had formed and was taking me to my destination against the flow of water. The boat eventually reached the other side of the River Tigris and I disembarked. I turned around and the boat had disappeared, and that is why I am late.’ At this moment, the athiest brust out laughing and remarked, ‘Oh Abu Hanifah, I heard that you were the best debator from amongst the Muslims, I heard that you were the wisest, the most knowledgable from amongst your people. From seeing you today, I can say that you show none of these qualities. You speak of a boat appearing from nowhere, without someone having built it. Nails positioning themselves without someone having banged them, sealant being poured without someone having poured it, and the boat taking you to your destination without a navigator against the tide, your taking childish, your talking rediculous, I swear I do not belive a word of it!’ Abu Hanifah Rahimullah turned to the athiest and replied, ‘You don’t believe a word of it? You dont believe that nails can appear by themselves? You dont believe sealant can be poured by itself? You dont believe that a boat can move without a navigator, hence you don’t believe that a boat can appear without a boat maker?’ The athiest remarked defiantly, ‘Yes I dont believe a word of it!’ Abu Hanifah Rahimullah replied, ‘If you cannot believe that a boat came into being without a boat maker, than this is only a boat, how can you believe that the whole world, the universe, the stars, the oceans, and the planets came into being without a creator? The athiest astonished at his reply.

You know what they say about having big intentions for Ramadan. Well what about this? : To have a 1000 comments of ‘rewards’ by Eid. Inshallah

What I mean is leave a comment with either something from (1) Quran,* (2) Hadith, (3) Dua,Supplication or a wird (4) and Durood Shareef. *

The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) s.a.w. said: “When a man dies, his (good) deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who will pray for him.” Narrated by Muslim

So basically this can be a way for you to get rewarded even in the grave. Every time someone reads what you have posted there reward will become your reward Inshallah. So even when you die if someone happens to read the comments you’ll be getting rewarded!

Come on brothers and sisters! Let’s make history. It’s not hard. Even if just 250 of you write a separate comment for each 4 categories we’d make it.

If Prophet Muhammad visited you

Just for a day or two,
If he came unexpectedly,
I wonder what you would do?
Oh I know you would give your nicest room,
To such an honored guest,
And you would serve him your very best.

You would be the very best,
Cause you’re glad to have him there,
That serving him in your home
Would be a joy without compare.

But…when you see him coming,
Would you meet him at the door
With your arms outstretched in welcome,
To your visitor?

Or…would you have to change your clothes
before you let him in?
Or hide some magazines and put
The Qur’an where they had been?

Would you still watch those movies,
Or your T.V. set?
Or would you switch it off,

And instead take out Hadith books?

And I wonder…if the Prophet (saw) spent, a day or two with you,
Would you go on doing the things you always do?
Would you go right on and say the things You always say?
Would life for you continue
As it does from day to day?

Would your family conversations,
Keep up their usual pace?
And would you find it hard each meal,
To say a table grace?

Would you keep up each and every prayer?
Without putting on a frown?
And would you always jump up early,
For Fajr at dawn?

Would you sing the songs you always sing?
And read the book you read?
And let him know the things on which,
Your mind and spirit feed?

Would you take the Prophet with you,
Everywhere you plan to go?
Or, would you maybe change your plans,
Just for a day or so?

Would you be glad to have him meet,
Your very closest friends?
Or, would you hope they stay away,
Until his visit ends?

Would you be glad to have him stay,
Forever on and on?
Or would you sigh with great relief,
When he at last was gone?

The reason for writing this poem

this is da main reason 4 Qasidah Burdah (Insha Allah it’s correct):

The writer HAZRAT IMAAM SAALIH SHARA-FUD-DEEN ABU ABDULIAH MUHAMMAD BIN HASAN AL-BUSAIRI R.A had become paralysed.  His doctors and physicians gave up all hope of his recovery.  Eventually in this state of complete helplessness and despair he composed this poem expressing the grandeur and excellence of Sayyidina Rasulallah Sallallahu   Alayhi Wasallam.  Using this as his sole means of asking Allah Ta’alaa to cure him from his illness.    He isolated himself in a quiet place one Thursday night and with complete devotion, concentration and sincerity began reciting this poem. While reciting it sleep overcame him.  He had a vision of Sayyidina.  Rasulallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. He told Sayyidina Rasulallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam of his   illness whereupon Sayyidina Rasulallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam passed his blessed hand over Imam Busairi’s body.    Through the barakah and blessing of Sayyidina, Rasulallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam Allah Ta’alaa granted   him complete cure from his paralysis. When he awoke he found a scarf or shawl on his body which he had seen   Sayyidina Rasulallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam place on his paralysed limbs. This resulted in the poem being    named “Qasidah Burdah” (The Poem of the Scarf).
In the morning when due to some necessity. He went to the bazaar, a pious dervish greeted him with salaam and   requested him to recite the Qasidah which he had composed in praise of Sayyidina Rasulallah Sallallahu Alayhi   Wasallam the poet said that I have composed many poems in praise of Rasulallah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam,   which one do you wish to hear? The dervish replied: ‘The one which begins with, A-min Tazak-kurin   (i.e. Qasidah Burdah)”.  Upon this request the poet became wonder struck and said,   “I take an oath that no one knows about this poem.  Tell me the truth, from whom  did you hear about it?”  The dervish replied, “I take an oath by Allah that  I heard  it from you last night when in a dream you  had recited it to Sayyidina Rasulullah  Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam,  whereupon Sayyidina Rasuluallah  Sallallahu Alayhi  Wasallam became attentive towards you and because of  its blessings Allah Ta’alaa   granted you complete cure from your ailment”.When the poet gave this poem to the  dervish   his secret became known to all the people and its barakat and blessings  too became general for all.
When this poem reached Baha-ud-deen the governor of the country named Tahir, he so  highly  regarded and  respected it that he would stand while listening to it.
It is also narrated that Sa’aadud-deen Farouqi, who was a viceroy of Baha-ud-deen,   had became blind.  In a dream he saw a pious person who told him to take the  Qasidah Burdah  from Baha-ud-deen and place  it on his eyes. In the morning  he told Baha-ud-deen about this dream. The Qasidah Burdah was brought   and with full sincerity and conviction Sa’aadud-deen placed it on his eyes.  Through its barakat Allah  Ta’alaa granted him complete cure and restored his eyesight.
